Description We have developed a 4th gear strengthening race kit for 02M/02Q gearboxes. It results in a 5 speed gearbox rather than 6 speed. It’s aimed at the TDI drag racers initially as they launch in 2nd gear and run up to 5th over the line in their long final drive boxes. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th ratios remain the same as OEM with the 4th gear ratio being 1.0, total gear ratio of your gearbox will be determined by the wide selection of OEM final drives. This could suit many other gearbox codes and will suit a track/drag car as 6th gear is unlikely to be used on track. We will require your 4th gear from your gearbox, if you are not able to supply this before at the point of ordering, please select the surcharge option and once you have returned the gear, we will then refund the surcharge. We recommend professional installation of this kit by a competent person. Your original double gear on the input shaft will need to be machined to height by a local machine shop. We can provide this service for a cost of £60. Dimensions to machine this to will be provided upon purchase.
