This is a classic square bell pull based on an original Victorian design for use with a mechanical butler or housekeepers bell (sold separately - see below). When the lever is pulled it pulls the bell cord of the butlers bell which makes it ring. It is mounted on a hardwood pattress and supplied with a blanking pulley for the inside of the house. In addtion, it is supplied with a plastic sleeve which protects the cord from fraying. It comes in a polished brass finish which gives the delightful appearance of being renovated as its patina has darker areas in the recesses. Lovely and characterful.
